It has been a real pleasure to welcome the pupils back to school this week for their pastoral/wellbeing sessions. They have been very keen to share their stories and experiences during lockdown and we have been amazed and cheered up by their smiling faces and the extent to which some of them (and their hair) had grown in the time they had been away! They have observed our one way and social distancing measures impeccably and we hope that you and they have been reassured that we have done everything possible to try and ensure a safe return to school. We still have no guidance as to what the school setting in Wales might look like in September but this has been a useful opportunity for us to try out new ways of working and it feels to us like the week has been a real success story – thank you for the part you have played in it!
Arrangements and start times will be the same through Monday to Thursday of next week and Mrs Ager and Miss Williams will be in touch during the week for the arrangements for exam classes next Friday. Pupils will begin their rotation of English, Maths and Science sessions next week with subject content that will be delivered via Microsoft TEAMS by the subject specialists into rooms where the pupils will maintain their ‘Bubbles’ with the same teachers and pupils wherever possible. We also welcome pupils from our partner primary schools from Monday onwards for important transition events for them and I am sure our pupils will make them feel welcome.
Thank you all so much for your continuing support. Stay safe and well and we look forward to another successful experience next week.
