The Computing Department believe that all pupils should be taught Computer Science and coding at KS3. We do this to give them a chance to develop and try these skills with an opportunity to progress to Computer Science at KS4. We use a variety of hardware and software including Raspberry Pi’s to teach our pupils. All pupils will have the opportunity to learn how to create websites using HTML and create programs in Python, both skills which are vital at KS4.

We are pleased to have shifted to a Computing based curriculum with all pupils having the opportunities to learn about the way a computer works building from year 7 through to year 9. The pupils acknowledge that this is hard work but really enjoy it. Computing places an emphasis on thinking and problem solving skills, but also encourages creativity to flourish.

We have a GCSE Computer Science course running as well as a BTEC IT course.
